General Practitioner

Galaxy Health Medical Centre is currently seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our busy practice in Byford. This is a full-time position available Monday to Friday, with the option to work on Sundays. Alternative working arrangements may also be considered for the right applicant.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing professional health assessments, diagnoses and treatment services to patients.

• Ordering appropriate diagnostic tests and following up with patients regarding their results.

• Developing suitable treatment and ongoing care plans.

• Referring patients to specialists and other healthcare providers when required.

• Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.

• Working collaboratively with doctors, nurses and support staff.

Qualifications

• A recognised medical degree.

• Current Ahpra registration or eligibility to obtain registration appropriate for the position.

• Postgraduate qualifications in general practice or primary healthcare are desirable.

Skills and Experience

• At least 3 to 5 years of postgraduate general medical practice experience in Australia or a comparable healthcare setting.

• The ability to assess symptoms and physical signs and establish an appropriate diagnosis where possible.

• Sound clinical judgement when determining further investigation, treatment and patient management.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A professional, compassionate and patient focused approach.

• The ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
